The calculus class spent the last 2 days exploring related rates in a real life application: How fast would the area of an oil spill increase given a constant rate of volume increase? We found out! Then we tried to determine the best way to clean up an oil spill. Lots of great suggestions!!

Congratulations to LCC's math club. We have had an exciting start to the year. For the first Catholic Math League contest of the year, we have 5 students with a score of 14 or above out of 25, which is fantastic! Congratulations to Alvaro Diaz with a score of 20! Followed close behind with a an 18 is Chloe Guo. Jim Huang and Daisy Zhang both scored a 15 and Kaylee Rigg rounded out the top 5 with a score of 14. Way to go Thunderbirds! Fly High!!
