To help acclimate students and staff to some of the changes in procedures and policies we will have transition days. On August 11th and 12th, we will have students come by grade for part of a day. New procedures and policies will be discussed in order to answer questions and ease as many concerns as possible. Your student should attend the designated time (information will be forthcoming) in order to safely begin school on Thursday, August 13th (please note this is also an early dismissal day). In the event that we receive guidance from state and local officials that this becomes necessary, our calendar may be adjusted accordingly.

Late last week, Governor DeWine announced back to school health and safety guidelines for all school districts across Ohio. LCC, alongside our Catholic Elementary schools are currently reviewing those guidelines. As a Catholic community, we have been planning and preparing for multiple scenarios to safely welcome students and staff back.
We will be reviewing the latest information from the governor so we can meet the requirements set forth in these guidelines. Once we know more, we will share more details.

May this day inspire us all to fight for freedom and equality everyday πΊπΈ

As we all prepare to reconnect to our Catholic lives, albeit still in an extraordinary way, I would like to invite you to engage with those who are awaiting the reception of a Sacrament in an extraordinary way. Many of the first communicants, the confirmandi, the elect, and the candidates experienced an abrupt change or even end to their preparation for the reception of these respective sacraments. Therefore, please consider wholeheartedly advocating participation in a Novena to the Holy Spirit to all those that you serve in ministry and especially to those whose formation was truncated. We pray that this novena prepares each of us for the gifts of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and particularly for those awaiting sacraments that the Spirit will teach and remind us of all that Christ has told us (cf. John 14:26).
To encourage participation, we are also promoting a Red Ribbon Campaign. The red ribbons are a visible sign of our anticipation, excitement, and unity. The goal is to cover Northwest Ohio in red ribbons by simply tying one on your front door, mailbox, a tree in your yard, etc. on Friday, May 22nd, the first day of the novena, through Saturday, May 30th. Videos will be posted daily on social media and the Reconnect webpage, additional resources for the novena can also be found at this link: https://reconnecttoledo.squarespace.com/pentecost
