ππ Congratulations to recent Lima Central Catholic grad, Billy Bourk, for being named The Lima News Boys Scholar Athlete of the Year! ππ
Billy's dedication to staying busy has paid offβhe's been a four-year starter in baseball and basketball, a three-year starter in football, and maintained a 4.15 GPA. Now, he's set to tackle both football and baseball at NCAA Division III Adrian College.
"Baseball has always been my first love," Billy says, but his impressive senior season in football, with 37 catches for 927 yards and 9 touchdowns, has sparked a new passion. Standing at 6-5, he was named honorable mention All-Ohio in football and is excited to play both sports in college.
Adrian College is fully supportive of Billy's dual-sport ambitions. "They are very open to it. I think Iβm ready for it. Iβm really excited for it,β he shares.
Beyond sports, Billy has a unique tradition of growing his hair out for two years and donating it. He plans to become a high school history teacher and coach, continuing his commitment to excellence.
Huge congratulations to Billy and all the other Scholar Athletes recognized by The Lima News and OSU-Lima for their outstanding achievements! π
