Jim Lynch, 76, passed away peacefully at home and in the arms of his loving wife, Georgia, on July 21, 2022.
Jim was born on August 28, 1945 in Lima, Ohio to the late Rodney and Marie Lynch. He graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School in 1963 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1967. He was the starting middle linebacker, consensus first team All- American and sole Captain of the 1966 Fighting Irish National Championship Football Team and later played 11 years as linebacker for the Super Bowl winning Kansas City Chiefs.
LCC held a special place in his heart. This is where his football career and his formal education began and is also where he met the love of his life, Georgia Nan Quatman Lynch. Additionally, LCC is where he met wonderful friends that throughout his life he held so dear.
He would want to continue the gift of LCC through this special scholarship fund providing opportunities for future students, both athletes and those in need, to be able to partake in the special and unique gift that is Lima Central Catholic.
